Meet Our Designer
"Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas".

HELLO!
My name is Claudia Hagen. I'm originally from Colombia. In 2001, I moved to the US and lived in PA. In 2018, I moved to Texas with my husband, Steve and my son, Lucas. We moved to a beautiful house, but the garden in the front yard looked very sad. I decided to start learning about gardening in Texas and that's when I found my passion for gardening. I took Landscape Design classes and then I got my Master Gardener Certificate. Now, Gardening is my meditation time and I enjoy it so much. I love sharing my love for plants.
Prosper Garden Design got established in February 2, 2021. When I was in college my biggest dream was to have my own business. I feel so blessed finally my dream came true and I can spend my time doing what makes me happy.
My goal is to share my love for plants. I enjoy creating beautiful designs with fresh and colorful plants. My biggest reward is to see my client's smile after they see their new beautiful gardens and seasonal planters.
Studies have shown the health and well - being benefits of plants. Plants and flowers generate happiness reducing levels of stress and anxiety. Plants in hospitals help patients to heal faster due to their soothing effect in people.

One of the main reasons people don't have plants at home is because they think they don't have a "Green Thumb". I used to kill all my plants and my ex-boss plants also when she was taking days off from work. I really think the "Green Thumb" theory doesn't exist. Each type of plant like different environments, they cannot be treated all the same way just because they are all plants. For example, you cannot treat all your siblings or parents or kids the same way. You know some of them need more attention than others. The best way to develop a "Green Thumb" is to choose a few plants for your home and learn how they like to be treated. How often they need to be watered, how much light those plants like, and how often they need fertilizer.

I will be more than happy to help you with anything related to plants, centerpieces, natural wreaths, seasonal planters and garden designs.
